Originally, I started blogging in order to chronicle our lives: "slowing down" was taking time to remember what was happening in our lives and enjoy the moment. I have a tendency to look forward to the future so much that I don't enjoy the present. I also have a tendency to forget the past-the good and the bad times, which is good in some respect but bad in another.
Anyway, I kind of lost sight of my goal. I started looking into making money through my blog. Well, my whopping $11.55 didn't really cut it, but it did make me become obsessed with my sitemeter.
Originally, I had been blogging at work, but then I left that HORRID job and got a new one. While live blogging is a neat concept, I really don't think live blogging while waitressing is going to work out!
Anyway, I want to refocus and go back to blogging. Blogging for my audience as well as for myself. Here's the first post. I'll be more consistent now. I promise! Well, at least I promise to have good intentions!!

Top Momma
Will you do me a favor? Go here and click on Keira's picture! It is a cool new website that ranks you by how many people click on your picture. It also links to quite a few different mom blogs, which are interesting to read, but click on mine first, okay?! Go ahead and sign up yourself while you are there-the only requirement is that you are a mom.
*Update: It should be fixed now; the site is up for your perusing pleasure!

State Your Name
Sheryl from Paper Napkin has claimed this week as de-lurking week (she also made the cute button above). She is encouraging everyone to leave a comment on all the blogs you visit. It is easier said than done, I know! So, here's your chance-leave a comment then move on. How many blogs can you de-lurk yourself from? Introduce yourself to the person who has been providing you knowledge and entertainment. Let them know how you found them and what you think of their blog. We are promoting the blogosphere or some shit like that.

How Fun!
Hey, I'm the most popular outgoing link on Nashville is Talking! I hope I don't disappoint... Sista did an awesome job of building suspense. How many of ya'll thought you'd be clicking through to see an ugly picture of a blister?
I want the shirt, by the way, mainly because it reminds me of John Travolta (#99)... There is nothing wrong with that.

New Blogger and Comments
I have heard from some people that the new version of blogger has a problem with the comments. If you find that you are not able to comment, select anonymous and just jot down your name with your comment. Sorry about the inconvenience! Other than the comment thing, I've been pretty happy with the new blogger. I'm having fun changing the template, so look for fun updates!

Bunco Night
Well, meeting with the girls was a blast! I loved joining the group because everyone already knew everyone (except me and Mandi, but she knows Kathy) and everyone was so comfortable with everyone; it was just a great time. I don't remember all the names, but I've been cheating and reading blogs about the night, which helps me remember who all went!
There was a lot of talk about people I don't know, but the stories were very entertaining. We didn't play bunco, but I don't know how anyway. I didn't contribute too much to the conversation, but I didn't know the people we were talking about!
Why I think the bloggers from last night cool:
I had such a good time. I'm now putting faces and names with blogs, which is also fun. I would like to join them again. Can I? Can I?

Why I think the bloggers from last night cool:
- No one thought twice about my being there. They didn't think it was strange that a stranger joined the mix-they just treated me like one of their own.
- Kat makes yummy food.
- There was a lot of swearing. I felt like an adult.
- The word trifecta was used twice...by two different people
- Other adults have messy homes and are poor (not Kat! this was just gathered from conversation, not demonstration)
- Everyone had different opinions and shared them without hitting each other.
- Everyone was themselves (at least seemed to be)
- I laughed a lot. A lot a lot.
- I had an irrational fear that everyone would be psychotic and judgemental but the conversations of the evening proved contrary
- In theory, they like to play bunco...I like games, so in theory, I like bunco.

My New Favicon
Thank you, Mert, for helping me with my favicon! I drew a picture of my toe-ring tattoo and put that up in the address bar, along with the name of my website. I feel smart! Since the favicon is so small, here is a picture of what I drew (using Josh's tablet and photoshop).

Huh?
Okay, this might not make sense to you depending on what my blog page looks like right now, but I'm going to say this anyway...
Why is my book in the corner?
In the top left corner, I have a link to a Family Guy clock (very very funny show, btw). In a previous post, I have a link to an Amazon book that I am selling. Currently, the Amazon book link is where the clock is supposed to be. The book is still where IT is supposed to be too, so what happened to Brian (the clock)?
I looked at my template, and it looks correct in there, but even after I refreshed and republished or whatever it is, BRIAN IS MISSING. Should the authorities be alerted?

See, I Told You I'm Not Stupid!
I am so excited that I've moved over to Blogger from Eponym. It seems so much more user friendly. Even though I took a little html in college, I couldn't figure out eponym. Granted, college WAS seven years ago, so a lot has changed, but still... As you will see in one of my first posts, I was feeling very dumb, but I am doing better now. I've gotten myself a book, and all of the updates you see before you have been done by Yours Truly (except the rss feed-Josh did that before I jumped on the "I can do it myself" bandwagon). Stay tuned for more excitement in the next few weeks!!

I've Chosen!
Ok! Here I am. I chose blogger-simply because everyone else has it, so it must be easy. I haven't taken the time to do to it what I want, so this is just the beginning. We'll see!
