Cereal Facts

A few days ago, Night and I had a discussion about the Kroger brand cereal that I had bought for the kids (Marshmallow Treasures, to be exact).

There is a picture of an octopus on the front. Night told me that he wanted some of the SQUID cereal (sounds delicious!) that I bought for him. I told him we didn't have SQUID cereal, but that we have OCTOPUS cereal.

We then had a 2 minute argument about the fact that it is in fact an OCTOPUS, not a SQUID. Don't worry-it is not seafood-flavored cereal (I wonder how that would go over), it is in fact generic Lucky Charms, but the fact that my FOUR YEAR OLD son even knows that a squid and an octopus are similar is completely amazing. I'm so proud.

They don't really look that much alike, though! Of course, I had to rub it in that I was right and he was wrong by showing him the pictures. I won't be out-smarted by my 4 year old, not this time at least!
