Here's the Latest

Today, I brought Polly to work. I don't think Dr. likes her very much. He came up front, and she was dancing. (She is so cute!) I said, "Do you like my Christmas present?" We talk a little about it and he calls it a kids' toy. I make reference to being a kid. He says, "Well, it is time to grow up."

Um. Okay.

I have listened to my ipod here at work, and he has given me a little radio to listen to, so I'm not sure what the problem would be. Polly is not intrusive.

Then, I told him that the next patient that is coming in is his nephew's girlfriend. He tells me that she is premed. Neat. I then tell him that I don't know if she will be able to get her wisdom teeth extracted today or not because the insurance wants a predetermination on anything over $200. "Well, does she know that?"
"No. I couldn't get ahold of her."
"Is she coming in?"
"As far as I know."
"Now, Mari, don't give me answers like that." (I guess that is another form of I don't know)
"Well, last time I talked to her, she was coming in."
"That answer is even worse." and he walked away.

Sigh.

The thing that bothers me the most is how he talks to you as if you are a petulant child. You obviously do more for him than he does for you! Maybe it would be a good time to go back to teaching...;)

Don't let Josh read that!!
I know that there are people that don't like their jobs and just suffer through it, but I don't want to! That is why I left teaching. That is also why I'm considering going back to teaching!!

I've been reading through these posts and, I'm sorry but that guy is a butthole. You were totally right to quit. He sounds passive aggressive to me. Maybe he's getting senile, I don't know. It might have been better for you if he'd had more than one person to pick on. Two people in an office together all day doesn't sound like a lot of fun. Especially when one of them is this guy.
